Private Home Selling Sites Reviewed

Welcome to Property Site Review, the review site for private property selling websites.

The popularity of selling houses privately online is easy to understand. With growing dissatisfaction with unregulated estate agents growing, and private selling offering massive savings, more and more people are selling in this way every year.

The big question that remains though, is what service to use. With a new private sales site appearing on the web almost every month over the last year it is easy to get confused about the differing range of services that they offer and prices that are charged.

Property Site Review aims to help in making this decision. We've developed 33 objective tests to assess how effective each private house sales site is likely to be in finding you a buyer and applied the test to 45 private property selling websites.

About the Tests

In order for Property Site Review to be as useful, and as objective, as possible we had to develop criteria that not only covered all the major criteria of an effective private house selling website, but were as transparent as possible.

What we came up with was 33 tests (so far!) that cover the major aspects of how much exposure a site will give you, what features are available for you to utilise in creating an effective advert, the security and privacy implications of you using the site, how you can manage your advert once your property is live on the site and how effective the site itself is in converiting browsers to buyers.

For each test we gave scores of of 1 (poor) to 3 (good) stars and combined these scores to assess how well each site performed in the five different areas as well as overall.

About the Sites

To date we have reviewed 45 sites where you can advertise your UK property for sale & with the rate new sites are appearing, this number is likely to rise. These range from small, independently operated free property site, to big national sites. What they all have in common is that they want you to add your property details to their pages.
